Community Greens at Washington and Broad Grand Opening Celebration: Thursday, June 12, 3-6 PM
By Green Coast on 2 Jun 2014
If you haven’t been to the Community Greens at Washington and Broad, now is your chance to do so at the biggest party we’ve thrown to date. Or maybe you have at least stopped by Propeller for a meeting, Laurel Street Bakery for a sandwich, or 3 Potato 4 for fries. Maybe you’ve wandered up to the Green Coast Enterprises office thinking it was Impressive Printing. We’re almost certain you’ve at least driven by and wondered what was going on there.
On Thursday, June 12, we’re celebrating the fans, financial partners, tenants, contractors, organizations, and community members that helped make this project possible. There will be opportunities to tour the project and learn more about us, our partners, and how it all came together. Speakers include City Councilmember LaToya Cantrell and Pat Forbes of the Louisiana Office of Community Development. Refreshments include delicious food and drinks from local vendors (including our tenants).
Above all, we’re proud to officially unveil the completion of our flagship project, the historic renovation of four buildings at Washington and Broad. Once a thriving commercial center, properties along the corridor sat blighted and damaged until principals of Green Coast Enterprises identified it as a promising area for development. Now, these blighted buildings have been replaced with community destinations including a social innovation incubator, health center, restaurants, offices, and retail.
We designed and built these spaces to bring together visitors and neighborhood residents to help grow the local economy and revitalize the community. But there can be no community revitalization without community, and that’s why we’re inviting YOU to take part in the celebration.
We hope to see you all there!
