Real estate agent/developer? Apply here. Calling it “an incubator for real estate agents,” Green Coast Realty Broker Ariana Tipper wants to create a new model for experienced real estate agents that have focused part of their practice on commercial and residential real estate development.

“I have redeveloped some properties and I’m looking to hire like-minded agents,” Tipper says. “Someone who sees a property and immediately starts evaluating the zoning, square footage, etc. so they can figure out the property’s maximum income potential.•

While many local agents pursue their own development side projects, these agents often lack the support of their brokerages. Green Coast Realty wants to change that by bringing to bear the experience and resources of parent company Green Coast. Green Coast President Will Bradshaw says that real estate agents know their markets, can pinpoint which blocks are ripe for investment and how properties should be priced.

“But they don’t always have great access to capital or the wherewithal to make sustainable practices part of the deal,” Bradshaw says. “This is where we come in. We can drive more resources to these deals, and provide a framework for successful development. We hope to expand our impact in transitional neighborhoods and support our agents in reshaping their little corners of the world.”

Longtime realtor Brian Knighten, who has completed a number of house renovations and commerical projects, just joined the Green Coast Realty team. Knighten says the move allows him to work with others, agents and developers, who have a similar mindset. He adds that he’s impressed with how Green Coast Realty wants to promote this type of thinking and make it a cornerstone of the business.

“I don’t know of any other agency that has such strong relationship from the development side to the agency side,” says Knighten.
