Newest Green Coast Realty (GCR) agent Kat Womack is keeping part of her real estate business in the family.

For the past few years, Womack has been working on smaller projects—single family homes and duplexes—with her husband Frank Burkhardt, who is also a senior project manager for Green Coast. Like other Green Coast realtor/developers, she uses her development skills when she’s representing clients looking for a home.

“It’s exciting when you’re out there showing houses and possibilities to clients,” says Womack. “I can suggest architects and contractors, and I can provide them with advice on what can work and what doesn’t through my experience.”

Recently, Womack and Burkhardt sold a house at 4426 Rampart Street in which they partnered on the new construction with fellow Green Coast agent, John Hendrix. Womack said the partnership was a natural fit between likeminded people. She says appreciates that GCR and Green Coast are creating a new model for realtors with the agents focusing a part of their practice on commercial and residential real estate development.

“They believe in balance,” says Womack. “They’re not looking for someone to work simply eight hours just pushing listings. They want to see someone working efficiently, effectively and becoming successful.”

Womack feels the model also lends itself to Green Coast’s triple bottom line approach of “People, Planet and Profit.”

“When Frank and I are constructing a new home or renovating an historic home, we™re helping reverse blight by putting a house on a formerly neglected lot, or returning a house to commerce. And we make sure that project has green elements that save the buyers money and are environmentally friendly.”
