Moving On Up! Renters moving into Pythian Building
By Green Coast on 28 Mar 2017
Moving vans will be rolling into the Pythian Building starting on April 1, and Pythian Building Manager Dannielle Small wants to meet the new neighbors.
“It makes me feel like a little kid when someone moved onto your street,” Small says. “Of course, I already know them a little bit, but it’s exciting to see people making the Pythian their new home.”
Small and her team have been showing the Pythian’s 69 apartments to prospective tenants for the past several months. The building offers one and two-bedroom dwellings with market rate apartments starting at $1400. There are also income-adjusted units that range from $800 to $1300 per month, and the manager is quick to point out those rates are permanently secured so there is no fear of prices dramatically increasing.
Small says that people have fallen in love with the amenities—the views, contemporary living spaces, parking, security, the upcoming market and other retailer—but location remains a prime motivator.
“For people who work downtown, I like to say, ‘you can get rid of your car and live here.‘ It’s close to so many places like the Smoothie King Center, Super Dome, the street car, and Duncan Plaza, which is across the street and scheduled to get a facelift very soon,” Small says. “And we’ll have bike storage and New Orleans first bike wash on the premises, so you can ditch your car and buy a bike.”
