Staff Spotlight: Stephanie Mezynski

How did you first hear about Green Coast Enterprises, and what made you join the team?
They were a client of a firm I worked for, I like their ideals and motivations. They make a good fit for me, so when I heard they had an opening and I was in between things I jumped aboard.
What project or accomplishment at Green Coast are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the way we take old blighted buildings and transform them to reflect their former glory, bringing pride back into neighborhoods that have suffered the weather of neglect. The greenest house is one that already exists and is retrofitted to work with today’s lifestyle.
Where can you be found on a typical Sunday afternoon?
Walking around my neighborhood in St Roch with my dog Sweet Potato, or putting back together my little formerly blighted piece of that neighborhood.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A crab sandwich from Cake Cafe, or maybe my grandmothers Borsht.
Describe your dream home.
An old style New Orleans Creole cottage filled with light that also has a huge screen porch and a luscious garden in the back.
What article of clothing do you wear most often?
These days, clogs and a pair of jeans.
What is your strangest hobby?
Climbing in dumpsters looking for old wood.
If you could live a day in the life of any book, movie, or TV show character, who would you be?
Holly Golightly, from Breakfast at Tiffany’s by Truman Capote.
